Frequently Asked Questions

Why Should I See Rise Physio?

Rise Physio was created so that patients could spend 60 minutes 1-on-1 with a doctor of physical therapy. Our goal at Rise Physio is to help you get out of pain, get you back to training and performing at your highest level. We are not only focused on your aches and pains, but also on improving the five factors of health: sleep, nutrition, training, mindset and connection!

What Can I Expect My First Visit?

Your physical therapist will sit and listen to your medical history, and the goals you would like to achieve with physical therapy. Your physical therapist will perform a thorough movement assessment and other objective measures to determine the best path to recovery.

Do I Need a Referral From A MD?

Nope!

New Jersey is a direct access state, so you do not need a referral from a MD to see a physical therapist.

What Should I Wear?

Wear comfortable clothing that you would workout in. If you are coming in for an upper body injury, please wear or bring a tank top. If you are coming in for a lower body injury, please wear or bring shorts.

Why Is Rise Physio Out-Of-Network With All Insurance Companies?

Healthcare is changing. In order for in-network physical therapy practices to be profitable, the physical therapists need to see 2, 3, or 4 patients in an hour. Insurance companies are also dictating if and how much physical therapy you need. Once you can perform all your daily activities at home, they decide you no longer need physical therapy. At Rise Physio, we do not want to be constrained to what an insurance company thinks is functional. We want our patients to live happy & healthy lives doing what they love to do, whether that is CrossFit, playing sports, or being a weekend warrior!

Can I Bill My Insurance for Reimbursement?

The short answer is yes. Please refer to the next FAQ to determine if your insurance will reimburse you for physical therapy services.

Upon request, Rise Physio will provide you with the documentation and superbill needed to send to the insurance for reimbursement.
